Welcome to my website! I aim to provide readers with knowledge through the lenses of a young black woman. My main goal is to inform, influence, and inspire others to create a better world by bringing awareness to major issues that are constantly plaguing society and damaging communities. I also hope to use my written reflections to promote healthy behaviors, love, and unity. I want to bring together both millennials and members of the older generations in order to stimulate a chain reaction that will inject knowledge into the minds of the youth. My latest project entitled, “Speak Your Truth Young Queen” will be released in February 2019. Stay tuned!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Mykia Wilson is a young poet who is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She often expresses her opinionated stance on societal issues through poetry and written reflections. Heavily inspired by the works of Gwendolyn Brooks, Maya Angelou, and Langston Hughes, Mykia doesn’t shy away from exhibiting her feelings and revealing her own personal struggles. Her debut book entitled, “ Speak Your Truth Young Queen” is sure to captivate the attention of readers that are a part of both the old and current generation. She is currently a senior at Louisiana State University, and is working to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. She also holds an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and Humanities.
